LIFE SCIENCES LIFTS VC’S TROPHY
The Vice Chancellor’s football tournament has come to an end on Friday the 16th with the faculty of Life Sciences lifting the trophy after a serious battle with the faculty of engineering on the field at the main bowl, sports complex.
Both teams played with great dexterity and courage even with the heavy the rain, as they put in their best in the fight to lift the trophy. It was a tough time deciding the winner, as the match ran through the first half and into full time in a goalless draw.
After the full time with no winner, penalties were taken to decide the winner of the game. The penalties were taken, and at the end, the faculty of life sciences gained victory over the Engineering team.
The teams played passionately and represented their faculties with great pride, but in every football tournament, there must be a winner.
Fans from both faculties were on ground to cheer and encourage their team as they played for the cup.
Present at the occasion was the Vice Chancellor of the great University and a host of other dignitaries from various works of life.
Also, in the females’ tournament, the faculty of Arts came victorious after a penalty shoot-out to lift the trophy against faculty of education.
Indeed, it was a really exciting and thrilling day for both the teams and the spectators who were present.









According to Victor Annuka the captain of uniben Basket Ball team: Well we didn't started preparation on time,we started preparing a month ago and its really a short time to catch up and to build our team chemistry. I think we have been able to achieve some certain things and for the record we play some friendly games emergeing victorious and thus the team is in a really high spirit.
And he went further to say, our main goal is to to come out victorious for the main NUGA and our eye is not on the preliminaries because we know we are going to dominate, so we looking forward to the main event at makurdi.

The preparation for NUGA so far so good is been amazing the training has quiet intense and at the moment we are just having a finishing to our training, we are very much prepared for the preliminaries and the the main event coming up April 5.

Well as a matter of truth we are prepared to reasonable extent and my team and i are very sure of our victory in the preliminaries and NUGA games just stay tune and with God we are going to come home with gold medals.
